RMH Family Rooms
The Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are an extension of the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland.

In February of 2006, the very first Family Room in the State of Ohio opened on the second floor of Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. Our newest Family Room will open on January 9, 2008 on the third floor of the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital. Both rooms provide an oasis within the hospital where families can spend time away from the hustle and bustle of busy corridors while still being close to their child. Family Rooms are equipped with a stocked kitchenette, a dining area, a comfortable living area, a play area for children, computers with internet access, and laundry facilities. (The Cleveland Clinic location also has restrooms with showers.)

Upon entering one of our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, families are greeted by volunteers who act as host or hostess of the room. Volunteers will register visitors, explain what services are available, and help families to feel at home. The main sitting area provides a comfortable place for families to relax and regroup. The kitchen area is stocked with a variety of snacks and beverages to enable families to refuel. Thanks to the generosity of our volunteers and donors, these goods and services are provided at no cost or low cost (we charge $.50 for bottled water and coke products) to the families using the facilities.

Family Room Volunteers
Volunteers who will provide a warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere for families are urgently needed for both Family Rooms. Family Room volunteers will register visitors, keep the room neat and tidy, keep the room supplied with snacks and beverages, maintain statistical records, and enforce policies. The Family Rooms are staffed from 9:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m., seven days per week. Volunteers are needed for four hour shifts at the Cleveland Clinic and for three hour shifts at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.
